It works very well in Internet Explorer although unfortunately it doesn't integrate into Firefox at all.

LoadScout also includes it's own FTP client and download manager so you can use it to download the full file if you want. Finally, it also supports all types of proxy: FTP, HTTP and SOCKS and will let you save frequently visited sites into the favorites folder.
